Bidding Adieu to 2011

It’s the last business day of 2011 and loads of folks are out shopping. Boat sales have been particularly good for December and it looks like 2012 will start off busy. If you plan to shop soon, be aware that usd boats remain in short supply. So, if you find something you like, don’t move too slowly. As almost all manufacturers shut down in late 2008 and did not really start building again in any numbers until spring 2011, there are no used boats from those years on the market to speak of. Many dealers are not stocking the way they used to, as credit is still a little tight. So, you may not have the selection you might expect at your local dealer. Outboard motor availability is getting better by the day as Japanese companies have fully recovered from the tsunami.
